Top 10 Tuesday: Books For Which I Am Thankful
I'm feeling thankful.
...for the people in my life.
...for the students who challenge me to grow and be my very best each day.
...for the books that have helped me to love others, know myself, and understand the world a little better.

BOOKS FOR WHICH I AM THANKFUL:
The Tale of Despereaux: Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup and a Spool of Thread by Kate DiCamillo ...because it reminded me that "stories are light."
Little Tree by Loren Long ...because it asked me what leaves I was holding that needed to be let go.
El Deafo by Cece Bell ...because it taught me to listen to the pictures.
Scuffy the Tugboat by Gertrude Crampton, Tibor Gergely (Illustrator) ...because my dad read it to me over and over and over (and that still means something to me).
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle, read by the author ...because it showed me the command an author can have over her story and the love she can have for her characters.

Wonder by R. J. Palacio ...because it is a book every bit as relevant, heart-spoken, and important today as it will be in 50 to 100 years.
When We Were Alone by David A. Robertson ...because it woke me up and opened thoughts I now carry around everywhere.
Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life by Bryan Lee O'Malley ...because it helped me to take greater stock in who I am and lean into what I love.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, read by Wil Wheaton ...because I don't identify as a person who reads books written for adults, and yet I've read (listened) to this one three times and counting.
When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead ...because the story united our book club, and every time after that all it took was someone saying "book, bag, pocket, shoe".
