Mrs. P (@MrsPstorytime) returns to share details around the 10th annual Be a Famous Writer Contest. The new school year is about to begin. It’s time for possibility and wonder and excitement and discovery. It’s time for students to find identity as scientists and coders and makers… and writers. Mrs. P has loved and inspired young authors for many, many years and the submissions she receives for the annual Be a Famous Writer Contest showcase some incredible works of creativity by students and classrooms. This year’s theme is HEROES and I’ve invited Mrs. P back to the podcast to tell you and your students all about it.

The contest is for K-4 classrooms only and is FREE to enter. The contest is only open to schools in the United States. Parents you can still participate by telling your child's teacher about it.
ENTRY DATES: OCTOBER 15, 2018.
Contest Closed: DECEMBER 15, 2018
Winners Announced January 30, 2019
For classrooms K - 4th gradeMrs. P invites your class to write a story on the topic of HEROES for the 2018 contest theme, no less than 250 words and not to exceed 1,000 words. It may be fiction or non-fiction. Any classroom from Kindergarten through 4th grade may enter. Just one story per classroom! It can be a collaborative story, or you can have your class vote on which child's story to enter. And there's no database to enter or permission slips to sign. You, the teacher, just need to email me the story. It is your classroom entering to be read by our distinguished judges. Please be sure to read my "Official Rules" page for all entry details!
