BOX MEETS CIRCLE (Podcast Bunny Presents #9)

Happy Spring! We're back with another Podcast Bunny Presents!

To those new the series, I do a lot of interviews for the Children's Book Podcast and ever since joining the team Podcast Bunny has been really excited to host some interviews of his own. It turns out he's been making friends with all sorts of wonderful main characters in his favorite picture books. Podcast Bunny conducts the interviews himself and I post them here each Monday for everyone to enjoy. You can read all of Podcast Bunny's interviews HERE.

We hope you enjoy!

Podcast Bunny Presents #9: An Interview with Box and Circle of BOX MEETS CIRCLE by Aaron Hartline

PODCAST BUNNY: Hi Box! Hi Circle! Thanks for inviting me over!

CIRCLE: HI!

BOX: Hello, Podcast Bunny.

PODCAST BUNNY: Circle, is this where you do most of your jumping? Or do you have a favorite place you like to jump around?

CIRCLE: Up high, in the sky!

PODCAST BUNNY: I love to jump, too! How high can you jump?

BOX: Circle once jumped up in the air on a Tuesday and landed on a Wednesday.

CIRCLE: That's high!!

PODCAST BUNNY: Wow! That really is high! Box, I know you love to do activities that involve sitting. Is this your favorite place to sit?

BOX: I find that a good hard surface is ideal. Why sit on a park bench when the concrete floor is much more comfortable.

PODCAST BUNNY: My favorite thing to do sitting is to read a good book or to play my favorite video game. Do you have a favorite sitting activity?

BOX: Watching the grass grow. Some shapes say you can't possibly watch the grass grow.. I say, your just not sitting down long enough.

PODCAST BUNNY: I read a story about the time you both were trying to find something to do together, but I also know that, Box, you have a hard time jumping and, Circle, you have a hard time sitting. The solution you figured out looked like a lot of fun! Do you have any favorite games or things you like to play together?

CIRCLE: Hop Scotch.. jump rope..

BOX: . . .and sleeping.

PODCAST BUNNY: I like that when you played together there were times when you kind of looked like your bodies made an exclamation mark! That made me feel like it must be especially fun to play with such a good friend.

CIRCLE: !!!!!

BOX: You're right, Circle, I didn't notice that either. Podcast Bunny, your very observant.

PODCAST BUNNY: So... I'm not trying to make either of you self-conscious, but there was something I noticed about you both that made me smile. You each have a very expressive eyebrow! Has anyone ever told you that before?

CIRCLE: Uni-brow!

BOX: Where's the tweezers? Tweezers, anyone see my tweez...

PODCAST BUNNY: I like it because it helped me to understand how you were feeling right away.

BOX: Oh really? Thank you. Sometimes my brow pokes Circle in the eye.

CIRCLE: OWw!

BOX: Sorry.

PODCAST BUNNY: Seeing you both reminds me how important it is to play games that include others. I think it's cool that you found a way for you both to play a game!

BOX: No matter what color or shape you are, we all can find a way to play together. Which reminds me, Circle, we have a play date with a rectangle.

CIRCLE: Let's Go!

PODCAST BUNNY: Okay, just a few more quick questions before I go. How old are you?

BOX: 2556 days old, wait wait.. 3..2..1.. 2557 days old.

PODCAST BUNNY: Do you go to school?

CIRCLE: Home

BOX: School

PODCAST BUNNY: What's your favorite food?

BOX: Ice cubes

CIRCLE: Peas, please!

PODCAST BUNNY: Who's your best friend?

CIRCLE: I love Box

BOX: I love you too, Circle

PODCAST BUNNY: Can I come over again some time soon?

BOX: You can join us now. Let's hop on Circle and jump on over to Rectangle's house.

CIRCLE: Let's Go!!!

BOX: Hold on tight Podcast Bunny.

PODCAST BUNNY: Wahoo! See you next time, everybody!
