HARRIET GETS CARRIED AWAY (Podcast Bunny Presents #4)

Hi folks! We're back with another Podcast Bunny Presents!

To those new the series, I do a lot of interviews for the Children's Book Podcast and ever since joining the team Podcast Bunny has been really excited to host some interviews of his own. It turns out he's been making friends with all sorts of wonderful main characters in his favorite picture books. Podcast Bunny conducts the interviews himself and I post them here each Monday for everyone to enjoy. You can read all of Podcast Bunny's interviews HERE.

We hope you enjoy!

Podcast Bunny Presents #4: An Interview with Harriet of HARRIET GETS CARRIED AWAY by Jessie Sima.

PODCAST BUNNY: Hi Harriet! Thanks for inviting me over!

HARRIET: Hi, Podcast Bunny! Thanks for coming!

PODCAST BUNNY: I love the costume you're wearing! How many costumes do you have?

HARRIET: Thanks! This is my extra-special errand-running costume. I’m going with my dads to buy dog food after our interview. I have a bunch of other costumes in my costume trunk. I mix them together so I never run out of new things to wear!

PODCAST BUNNY: Do you have a favorite costume?

HARRIET: Well… it depends. Somedays I have a favorite, but then I’ll have a different favorite the next day. I love them all!

PODCAST BUNNY: Is there any costume you can think of that you wouldn't wear?

HARRIET: I only dress up as things I like. So I won’t dress up as a cabbage. Or as nap time.

PODCAST BUNNY: Do you ever make your own costumes?

HARRIET: I can make hats and jewelry out of paper and beads and string. And sometimes my dads help me sew new costumes. Someday I’ll learn how to do it all by myself.

PODCAST BUNNY: I read a story about the time you went to the grocery store with your dads to get supplies for your dress-up birthday party. Is that the first time you've ever seen penguins at the store?

HARRIET: Yes, it was the first time. If they ever visit again I’ll show them how fun the city is!

PODCAST BUNNY: Do you think any other animals ever visit the city where you live?

HARRIET: Yes. You, Podcast Bunny! And if there are others, I hope I find them. I’ll be looking…

PODCAST BUNNY: You ended up a pretty long way from home, but something one of your dad's said in the story made me wonder something. Have you ever gotten carried away before?

HARRIET: My dads are always saying I get carried away, but usually they just mean I’m super excited. I’ve never gotten carried away by penguins before. I’d never been so far from home.

PODCAST BUNNY: Oh! I almost forgot to ask! How was your party?

HARRIET: Fun! There were balloons! And cake! And all my friends wore costumes with me!

PODCAST BUNNY: Did anybody give you any new costumes for your birthday?

HARRIET: Yeah! But I want them to stay a surprise until I wear them!

PODCAST BUNNY: Okay, just a few more quick questions before I go.

HARRIET: Ok!

PODCAST BUNNY: Do you go to school?

HARRIET: Mmhmm! I love school.

PODCAST BUNNY: What's your favorite food?

HARRIET: Pancakes! Especially when we have breakfast for dinner.

PODCAST BUNNY: Who's your best friend?

HARRIET: My dads, and my dog, and my friend Olivia.

PODCAST BUNNY: Can I come over again sometime soon?

HARRIET: Yes please!

PODCAST BUNNY: That's what I was hoping you'd say! What should we do next time I visit?

HARRIET: Next time we can go to the park and feed my pigeon friends.

PODCAST BUNNY: Thanks for letting me come over, Harriet! Tell your dads I said thanks, too. See you next time!

HARRIET: Bye bye, Podcast Bunny!

Thanks for visiting with us, Harriet! And thank you Jessie Sima, just because.
