Hi folks! We're back with another Podcast Bunny Presents!
To those new the series, I do a lot of interviews for the Children's Book Podcast and ever since joining the team Podcast Bunny has been really excited to host some interviews of his own. It turns out he's been making friends with all sorts of wonderful main characters in his favorite picture books. Podcast Bunny Presents #7: An Interview with Rex of TEA REX by Molly Idle (with interview assistance by Molly Idle)
PODCAST BUNNY: Hi Rex! Thanks for inviting me over!
REX: ROAR!
PODCAST BUNNY: You’ve got a nice place. Have you been here long?
REX: Rrrrrrrrr…. *snort* Rawr.
PODCAST BUNNY: Umm… this might be a problem. I don't think I speak T-Rex. Ms. Idle? Would you mind helping translate?
MOLLY: Not at all, Mr. Bunny- I’m happy to help.
PODCAST BUNNY: Rex, you've been to tea. You've been to the beach. You've been camping. And I even read a story about you waiting up for Santa. Do you have a favorite memory from your adventures so far?
REX: GrrrrrRRRRRRawwwwwr. Rrr. Grrrrrrr!
MOLLY: That’s too funny, Rex. You know I feel exactly the same way. It doesn’t really matter what you’re doing- whether it’s sharing a cup of tea and a piece of cake, or exploring the great outdoors, when you’re with your friends, every day is a big, Wonderful adventure.
PODCAST BUNNY: Can't argue with that! Making friends is one of my favorite thing to do! Pardon my frankness, but how big are you?
REX: Rawr, grrrrph. Caaaarrrrrrggggh.
MOLLY: 40 ft long- teeth to tail. My gosh, Rex, That’s 10 times as tall as Cordelia!
PODCAST BUNNY: Wow! Oh... speaking of... Cordelia seems really nice. Do you have a favorite game that you like to play with her and your other dinosaur friends?
REX: *nods enthusiastically *. Mmmmm, rrrrr grrrr. *coughs* Mawerr.
MOLLY: Cordelia IS really nice. She and George, (that’s her brother) , taught Rex and the other Dino’s how to play musical chairs! And everyone loved it... but... what was that last part again Rex?
REX: Mawerr.
MOLLY: Oh, I see. The chairs... didn’t last long.
PODCAST BUNNY: It makes me giggle when I see pictures of you trying to squeeze through small door frames or sit in tiny chairs, but I also feel kind of bad. Do you have many pieces of furniture in your own house?
REX: *furrows brow* Rrrrmph.
MOLLY: I see what you mean Rex. Sometimes with decorations, less is more. But I know that with food, Rex thinks more is more!
PODCAST BUNNY: I know you like tea and cookies and roasted marshmallows. What's you're favorite food? (Please don't say bunny. Please don't say bunny. Please don't say bunny.)
REX: Cuuuuuuurgh!
MOLLY: Chocolate chip cookies!
PODCAST BUNNY: PHEW! Thanks for letting me come over, Rex! Tell your friends I said 'hi'. See you next time!
